At this time we do have some limited space available for ferret sitting.

We urge you to contact us ahead of time to see if we can accomodate you.

Contact us by email southshoreferretcare@comcast.net and we will try and connect you with a ferret friendly person who can assist you with ferret sitting needs.

Your email should include:

 

• Dates you need ferret sitting

• How many ferrets you have

• If your ferrets need any care such as giving medicine or have any medical issues

• How far you would be willing to travel to drop off/ pick up your ferrets

• How much you would be willing to pay the ferret sitter or if you would prefer to exchange for future ferret sitting.

• Your name and contact information.

Please note that ferret sitters are independent of the shelter and are free to make their own fee arrrangements.  

 

Some are able to also offer Pick Up and/or Drop Off services, which is a nice perk.

 

As an example, here is a range of fees that you might expect to see:

 

Pick Up and Drop off Fees are based on distance and time of day/night and might range from  $10 - $20  per each way

 

Ferret Sitting Fees -  $10- $12 per ferret per day

$25 -$30 per small healthy group rate (3-4 ferrets) with a 1 bag litter requirement or the litter fee can be added to the sitting fee total.

 

$30 -$40 per large healthy group (6-8 ferrets and a 2 bag litter requirement or the litter fee can be added to the ferret sitting fee total.

* based on number of ferrets and if any need medicine or special care

* owner’s must bring their own ferret food

* owner's will need to supply litter or puppy pads or a  fee may be added to overall 

  ferret sitting fee

Miscellaneous

additional amount (generally $3-$5) per ferret per day for ferrets who need medicine, special hand feeding, etc administered to them since there is more involved and we ensure that our daily schedule is geared around what they need and what time they need it.  Mixed groups of healthy and special needs ferrets are negotiated.
